SAP Functional Specialist

Reporting to the Team Lead, Financial and Procurement Services team, Financial & Enterprise Systems, this position will be responsible for working with the Downstream and International Controllers groups to continuously and cost-effectively improve the IT tools that support their capital management, accounting and financial reporting processes. This includes responsibility for the design, configuration, enhancement, testing, documentation and on-going support for the processes facilitated by the Investment Management, Financial, Joint Venture Accounting and Project Systems modules of SAP.
This position will be part of a team that is accountable for maintaining and enhancing the value of SAP in the operations and international business units of the company.
Accountabilities :
Act as a consultant to the corporation relative to SAP functionality and work with clients to promote disciplined and consistent application standards and best-in-class processes across all business units that utilize SAP.
Participate in the specification and selection of new IT solutions by promoting and illustrating the value of integration that SAP delivers and actively encouraging the expansion of the SAP footprint where doing so will minimize end-to-end cost.
Specify system configuration design or system modifications, leveraging on existing I/T , and concurrently improving the business processes.
Maintain and enhance the configuration of the FI, IM, JVA and PS modules.
Coordinate the development and testing efforts of programmers and other technical resources.
Support and sustain these modules by developing training and configuration documentation, delivering training on newly-developed functionality to clients, resolving problems reported by clients and performing routine testing and repairs associated with regularly-scheduled system software upgrades
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years proven hands on experience with SAP R/3 configuration in the FI, IM, JVA and PS modules (including experience with release 4.7 or higher)
Strong business knowledge of financial, financial reporting and capital management
Ability to analyze both SAP and business processes and identify opportunities for improvement
Good understanding of the SAP functionality that integrates with the above modules
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
Strong project management skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong work planning and prioritization skills
Strong training and coaching skills will be required
Demonstrated non-authoritarian leadership skills
Computer literate and proficient in the use of the full suite of Microsoft Office programs
Additional Information
Occasional travel may be required.
