Our client, a division of an international manufacturer of construction materials, has need for an accomplished Process Specialist for their Calgary plant. With close to 200 plants across North America , future opportunities are unlimited.
Job Purpose
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Specialist is responsible for reviewing and analyzing all of the major gypsum processes and identifying areas of improvement in efficiency, cost and quality.
Accountabilities include:
• Analyzes on an ongoing basis, the major gypsum processes i.e.: calcining, mixing, drying and identifies opportunities or improvement areas related to qualify costs or plant efficiency.
• Coordinates and implements improvement projects in areas identified during the WCM process.
• Works with operations personnel, identifies action plans to address both short and long term process improvement opportunities.
• Assists in training production personnel on processes and corrective action on work processes.
• Assists the Plant Manager and department heads in the development and implementation of annual technical and operating plans.
• May provide occasional vacation relief for both production and maintenance supervisory personnel.
• Other duties as required.
Background / Qualifications:
• A Mechanical Engineering degree coupled with 2 - 3 years of directly related manufacturing experience. The individual must be able to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel and be a champion for continuous process improvement.
• The successful candidate will also be willing to relocate in several years to another manufacturing facility within the company.
